Templates and CSS

First of all, when I turned off the 'default style' and made it 'no style' I found all the backgrounds disappeared and it became simply black and white, no templates or formal layouts.

Advantages of using CSS - well obviously it's quicker, easier and less likely to make mistakes (say if you want all the headings to be the same colour and font; you only have to change it once - Yay! :P). I reluctantly changed my background colours for the body and sidebar; even though I was already happy with how I had it set up previously.
A template can change the entire look and layout of a webpage or website, without changing your actual contents. But the changes can only be made within the template's own limits. I didn't really change my template because I already liked the look I had achieved, but you can change certain details within boundries.

Accessiblity is important to consider when making a webpage because it allows the page to be accessed by different browsers and people (including people with disablities) without trouble. Very important!

Well that's it for now, hope that was interesting for you all, and I'll catch yas next time :)

Summery - week 6 assessment

Hi all, man, I have done so much in this subject already.

For instance, in Blogger alone - I have completed 7 Posts, I particualrly like my flickr post and my post about Delicious; mainly because they talk about things I have learnt in this subject.
I enjoyed playing around with the look of my blog, especially the gadgets.
I have made a few comments to other people's blogs; I think I like the one where I commented on Becky's mainly because seeing what she could achieve with her layout inspired me and gave me more ideas.
I've also learnt how to follow, as well as add friends to my Blogger account, which I thin is pretty cool because I get updates from them and their blogs.

Del.icio.us is an awesome website which I reluctantly admit I havn't been paying enough attention to, but I do like it.
I have bookmarked 15 pages, my favourite one is probably the link to minitoykio - because it has my cousin's art on it. Mainly I bookmarked pages that interest me because they were about my friends, or animation - or even just usefulness like a link to flickr or the animation forum :D

And then there is flickr. Flickr is a quick photosharing website. Some of my favourite photos were taken back home, in Myrtleford.
They include a view from Reform Hill
some nice effects made from rain drops
and a tree on an interesting angle that I used to hang out under with my friends at school.

Anyway, I hope you like them, and check back on my blog in the future.
- Thanks guys

3 websites like delicious

Here are 3 websites like the Del.icio.us website:

Blicklist - Discover, Blink & Share
Simpy - Social bookmarks manager
Splur - Free online bookmarks with so much more

Del.icio.us!!!!!!! Yum, lolz

Again, re-reading the week 4+5 post, I noticed I also hadn't talked about Del.icio.us
Granted, if I realised I would've talked about it on my previous post, but anyway.
Del.isio.us is good but I havn't been using it as much as I should. I know it's convenient having all my bookmarks in one place, which is sweet as, and I've actually been using that to always gain quick access to the flickr website, but at this stage I havn't needed to really use it for any other websites - but really, in all truth - it's awesome.
I've recently added more bookmarks and websites to My Delicious account, so feel free to check it out if you wish.

Flickr

Ok, so I was re-reading week 4 + 5 post, and realised I hadn't posted anything about Flickr. Opps. ok well here it goes:

Flickr is good. I mean really good. It loads my images heaps faster than Facebook. And like most image loading sites you can tag, create folders (or sets) and heaps more.

Catch - all my friends are on facebook and don't want to join another website :P

So all in all it has it's ups and downs (made only by some of my stubborn yet luved friends, haha, thanks guys). But if you would like to see some photos and similar pictures like the above image, simply click here to check out my flickr account.

My holidays/break

Where to start - ok, obviously if you've been following my blog you know what I did on Good Friday. Saturday was just as good, but the rest of the long weekend was pretty boring and uneventful. Easter without the family and away from Myrtleford was pretty weird but I was still on a high from the previous Friday and Saturday.
The first Wednesday of the break I went back to Myrtleford for what was suppose to be a few days, but somehow became a week long visit, hehe :D. However, it was worth it; I got to catch up with family and friends. A drinking/catch up sesh with friends was probably the highlight of the visit, though I enjoyed my entire time just being back in the home town

Good Friday, Army March Out

On Good Friday I went to an Army March Out. For those of you who havn't experienced one - it's incredible. To watch the men and women march out was like nothing I've ever seen before. They become different people as they march in their Platoons and in their uniforms. The expressions on the faces of loved ones in the crowd is full of emotion; as I'm sure mine was as well.
Knowing a few people who have gone through the army process it was interesting to see how they actually change in the 80 days of basic training, and yet still remain exactly the same off base, lol. Although I didn't spend the day in the traditional Good Friday way (although that's obviously different for everyone as well, but) I had the best time, and it will be a day I will never forget :) xx

I'd also like to give a shot out to Dav - without your help I wouldn't have been able to attend an awesome event; Thanks Dav!

First Ever Walk Cycle

Ok, so I realise I've been very lazy in my postings since I got this account. - So i'm going to apologise now as I am about to go blog crazy. Get ready ;P

First of all I think I should talk about my first Walk cycle for VFX101. As my first ever real animation I learnt alot. I don't think I have ever taken so much notice at how people walk, nor do I think we will be able to really see people walking in the same way again.
I found the more I worked on my walk cycle the more problems I found with it, and that drove me insane; as I know it did with a few others as well.
So for my first walk cycle and play in animation I learnt a lot about the break down of a walk, a heap in the art of animation and can't wait to start my next assignment :D
